How would you like to receive 60 million targeted visitors to your website each month?  Basically, if you are prepared to purchase web traffic from companies that specialise in this particular area, then this is the volume of traffic you can expect to get – at a price!  The website traffic visiting your site comes from a targeted market of people interested in similar sites, ensuring their attention is more likely to be captured when presented with your own site.  Many companies ensure targeted traffic visits to your website by using spider bots, auto surfs or dedicated software to direct attention.  The better companies do not do that: they direct traffic to their own designated websites and utilise the exit window pop-up/pop-under concept which is highly effective.

There are two main types of traffic :

Search Engine Traffic – This type of traffic comes from search engines such as Yahoo, MSN and Google. The good thing about it is that it is free, highly targeted and usually helps direct quite a lot of traffic. The not so good thing is that it you can’t control it. You rely on robots to analyze and deliver the traffic to your site, and it is short term.

Referred Traffic – This type of traffic comes from a third party mostly a human source, some examples being forums, banners, article directories and partners. The good thing is that it is can be controlled, it is highly targeted and it is long term. The not so good thing is that it is time consuming, and it is repetitive.

Today it seems that webmasters mostly rely on traffic coming from search engines.  However, the correct manner in which to get traffic as the new school of thought recommends is to not use search engines, since search engines give a narrow view in regards to traffic generation, and so one will not be able to see the opportunities that exist outside of search engines in order to generate traffic.  You will also not be able to control the traffic if you use search engines and that does not work too well in marketing. The use of search engines to generate traffic should not be your priority. It may be better to focus on referred traffic, as discussed above, in dealing with traffic generation.

If you use referred traffic you will have long term control on your traffic and it can be manually generated rather than by a robot.  You can submit content to your feeds, be active in forums and blogs, and even exchange links if you use the referred traffic method. Another way you can use referred traffic is to submit the sitemap of the site to MSN, Google, Yahoo, etc. especially since Google and most search engines make changes to their algorithms on a daily basis in order to produce content that is relevant for the users of their various engines.

When you build referred traffic to your site, you are assisting search engines so as to be able to index your site, rank and understand your site in a better way, and therefore developing search engine traffic as well in a natural manner.

It is generally known and accepted that using banners and advertisements of that kind are not very effective ways of generating traffic, especially if that is the only method being used. The first suggestion would be not to use banners as the singular option, but rather as a part of a general strategy that demands that you use several ways of advertising and marketing in order to get some more traffic, and convert that traffic to sales and profit. However even as a part of a marketing campaign, the usage of banners needs to follow some standards, and it has its share of secrets and tips.

First of all you need to create some banners that stand out from all the other ones that exist and as you know they exist in abundance. You have to find something catchy and maybe even funny, something that will trigger the curiosity of those who see it and will make them want to click on it. You can decide if that would suit the purpose or you may want to pick a weird and bizarre phrase or something similar that will draw attention. It’s up to you to choose depending on your niche and needs, as well as taste. Whatever you do don’t come up with something conventional because it will be a waste of money and time.

Creating a well-received video is no easy task. There are many reasons for creating quality recordings. They build trust with your target market, drive traffic to your website and can even build you a huge list of subscribers. PS. Just focus on implementing this one tip and I guarantee you that you will see alot of traffic! Just 2 a day is all it takes!  Tip #2: Point a few backlinks to your Squidoo and Hub Pages One of my goals is to try and point at least 7 one way linksto each of my lens and hub pages.

This is one sure way tohelp you secure the search engine rankings of each of your lens and hubpages. You can hire someone to do this for you at Elance for about $5 to $10 per one way link – depending on the quality and page rank of the incoming links. This is why I am able to get high rankings fairly quickly.

Tip #3: Spy On The Top Lenses Go to Squidoo and analyze some of the top ranked lenses withinthe market that you are currently marketing in. See what topics they are writing about. Get ideas from them and then create a hubpage around that same topic.
